Resilient: an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.  Now those are words to live by!  I have been reflecting on my Social Media and Tribe Syndication career for the last several days, sometimes it seems like I am going NO Where!  I am taking action; I am Syndicating my Tribe members content; I am adding to my Tweeter followers; I am making new friends and relationships on FaceBook, and I am trying to recruit in to my primary business.  I am spending several hours a week learning from the people that are successful in this industry.   But as I look at my current position I am not seeing much positive results?  No one can relate to that I bet? I attended a very special horse training event this weekend put on by Pat & Linda Parelli.  Now you are properly thinking why do I want to know about horse training anyway?  Well just hang with me for a bit and I will explain.  I was invited by an old friend from Portland to attend this event at our local Epxo Center. I didn’t even know that he had interest in horses; I knew that his wife had a horse, but that was about it?  Well they came over Friday night and sent the night and we had a great time catching up, it had been a couple of years since our last meeting.

We were up early and off we went to the Expo Center!  When we arrived I was surprised at how many cars were in the parking lot.  Well once we got inside there were people milling around everywhere, from what I understand there were over two thousand people there! [...]

Last night I added a widget to my blog “NetworkBlogs” after doing so I realized how empty it appeared setting there with just me as my own best follower?  So I thought what can I do to get some followers?  Well recently I have joined the Unified Tribe.  So I sent an email to my new friends that I have made and this morning I believe I have ten new followers and a number of retweets and facebook shares. This was very nice to see!  I must mention that I sent the same message to my friends in the Tribe Intensive also. [...]

OPPORTUNITY

Opportunity: “a good chance for advancement or progress.”

As I continue on my Social Media journey and am creating more of a presences on the Internet, it seems that I am getting more and more opportunity?  Now as the definition above states: “a good chance for advancement or progress”.  What I am wondering is this a good chance for advancement or progress for me or the person that is offering the opportunity?  It seems that I am bombarded daily with emails and webinar invitations from Facebook, to the latest and greatest opportunity, that is either going to change my life or make my business run on autopilot and make my life easier?  I am sure you can relate.

As I have said in other posts, I have started several of my own businesses and have had success and failure in doing so.  One of the biggest things that I have learned over the years is that you must do your due diligence, before perusing that Opportunity.  In the present day that can mean from joining the latest and greatest online business opportunity to buying a software package that is going to bring you a flood of new leads.  One of our biggest triggers to purchasing some thing is our emotions.  Most sales are made because we begin to think from a emotional stand point rather than a rational mind set.  For example “if you join my new business opportunity today you will not only be part of the greatest opportunity available today, you will receive the following bonuses worth $2000 dollars, so actually the $599 you are spending is making you money!  But this is for a limit number for my favorite internet friends and will be available for only a short time!”  Makes you laugh when see it in this light, doesn’t it?  But in reality we receive these emotional charged offers daily!

What we need to do is set back and evaluate these opportunities for what they are, do your due diligence.  Take your emotions out of the equation as hard as it might be and look at that new opportunity for what it really is.  If it is a business opportunity; are you truly interested in this opportunity, or how much money they say you can make, with the “fast start” program?  Is this new business something you will enjoy doing?  Will the product or service truly benefit your client? Think about these things logically!  I know that this can take most of the fun out of the equation, but this is about making a sound business decision not about emotion.

If you are looking at product to help you with your business, you need to use the same fundamentals.  First and foremost you must remove your emotions from the purchasing equation.  Will the product truly benefit your business?  Is there other products that will do the same thing for less?   Are you considering buying the product for its value to your business or do you want the value added bonuses?  What kind of support is available for the product?  Is the 60 day money back guarantee for real?

These are just a few things to consider when making this kind of a decision.  My biggest piece of advice is to take your time and keep your emotions as far away from your decision making process as possible.  If the opportunity is for a “limited time only”, than more than likely there will be another “limited time only” offer coming your way with yet another new and improved product or opportunity in tomorrow’s email!

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did please pass it on.

Sincerely

What is all the buzz about HubzeBusinessCard?

HubzeCard is the up and coming technology for maximizing your Social Media efficiency.   I have been following HubzeCard for several weeks now and I must say that I was apprehensive about the new concept; it is currently in beta test mode and has yet to be released to the public.  There has been quite a bit of buzz on the facebook groups that I belong to.

Last night I attended my second webinar on this new concept; and I must say that this is going to be a huge help in time efficiency for us Social Media folks.  Let me give you some ideas as to how this system is going to work.  First of all this will be a personal electronic business card that will have your contact information (If you choose).  The whole electronic business card will be totally customizable to your personal preference.  You will have complete control as to what is on your HubzeCard and what information that you would like to share.  One of the benefits discussed was the ability  to create a database that we can access from any internet connection to find people and they will be able to update their business card as to their current location and contact information, such as for military personal and people how have moved to a new address.

The HubzeCard will be open architecture, so applications can be created and shared to benefit the entire community.  Like “widgets or plugins” in WordPress.  Also HubzeCard will connect to all your Social Media sites, and show icons that are attached to these sites on your business card, if you wish.  Another feature is to connect all your Social Media sites together in your BackOffice, so you can send and receive information in one central location.  Imagine the benefit of being able to write a response or comment and post this information at the touch of a button to the sites of your choice.  Also they plan on integrating your blog into this format!  Wow! Everything in one location, I don’t know about you but I send quite a bit of time going from site to site reading and replying to posts and messages?

Here is the best thing about HubzeCard, it is FREE!  Right now they are not charging for this service.  Eventually I believe they are going to create a premium service that there will be a charge for, and within that there will be other features.  But there will always be a FREE version also.  Here is the link to sign up for the new platform, What Do You Have to Loose? It seems like a no brainier to me?  I look forward to seeing you on the new HubzCard site soon. What a great way syndicate our content!  If you find this content valuable, please share with your friends. Click here to sign up now!

Sincerely

Tribe Syndication

THE NEXT BIG THING!

Social Media continues to become more popular all the time; people are spending more time on their computer and smart phones than ever.  The amount of commerce that is being purchased online continues to grow, if you are using this medium you are already very aware of this growing trend.  You reading this post validates the very fact that people are looking to social media for ways of sharing ideas and learning from each other, ways to increase their presence online.

“Tribe Syndication” is one of the newest tactics to achieve presence in the social media arena.  Syndication is described as:  “a group of individuals or organizations combined or making a joint effort to undertake some specific duty or carry out specific transactions or negotiations”.

So how does one form a “Tribe” in order to “Syndicate” ones content and ideas?  Face Book is an excellent start.  Let your friends know that you want to get together a group  of like minded people, to share ideas and promote each others content on social media sites.  Check out the groups and see if there are groups of like minded people that you would like to share ideas and content with.  Tweeter can also be used in the same way, MySpace and LinkedIn, all of these sites have group of people with the same interests.

Once you have formed a group of say five to seven people, then you can begin to “Syndicate” each others content.  Form a group call on skype and designate at time when you’re “Tribe” can meet regularly to “Syndicate” each others content and share knowledge to help promote fellow “Tribe” members.  This is a wonderful way to develop friendships and learn more about each other on a personal level.  Who knows what could come out relationships like this?

By having “Tribe Syndication” one of the greatest benefits is the accountability that is created!  When you meet with your “Tribe” you need to be prepared with new content for your fellow members to syndicate.  You need a new blog post, and a video to be prepared before each meeting.  That way there is always fresh content being spread though your social media networks.  And as we all know we love to put things off, this creates a deadline that we must meet in order to be accountable to our fellow “Tribe” members.

My “Tribe” gets together on Tuesday, so hence the name “Tribe Tuesday” we are on the call for about an hour and in that time we “Syndicate” each others content and help each other with technical issues that we are having.  You would be surprised as to how you can help each other.  You have knowledge that you didn’t even know that you could share just due to the fact that you have experienced an issue and solved it!

If you would like to discuss this concept further?  Or have comments, please leave them below and I will be in touch ASAP!

Why Don’t You Have a Tribe?

Posted on15. Mar, 2010 by .

This is the question that I would like to propose to you!

Webster’s Dictionary definition of a “Tribe” is:  a group of persons having a common character, occupation, or interest.

In other word we all belong to a Tribe if we realize it or not.  Sure you do!  Do you share a common interest in a sports team?  Do you like the same restaurant that others do?   What ever you do for an occupation, you share a common interest in getting the job done.

Tribes have been around since man first gathered together in a common cause to make life easier and protect themselves.  It is no different today, we just don’t really think of it in these terms.

Ok, so your saying what is this guy up too?  Well here’s the thing in this environment that we live in with the tremendous popularity of internet marketing and the many options out there to promote your business, it seems that we stand alone with our online marketing endeavors.  Granted that we have many automated technologies that are at our finger tips to champion our cause, yet we are still only one individual in the sea of many.

So this brings us back to the Tribe concept again, by a few working together to promote the common goal of the group we become several individuals working together with a common purpose of syndicating each others content, making it possible for many potential eyes to cross our blogs or websites!  Just think of the exposure that could come out of a group of say five to seven people that had a thousand followers on Tweeter and the same on Face Book, and Youtube.  Just do the math that is an enormous amount of exposure to a very warm market in an extremely short period of time!  Now think of adding more people to your social media lists each week and doing the same thing again.  Seems like a good idea huh?

If you have interest in learning more about this concept please comment, and leave your information and we can discuss this concept in more detail.

Give me a call and let’s chat!
